These pants are made from an original 100% Cotton 1956 Belgian Military Shelter Half Tent. Shelter Half tents were worn as ponchos in the field, then when troops would camp for the night, two soldiers would join their 'half' tents to form a whole tent. An ingenious piece of multifunctional military design.
Brushstroke camouflage is extremely rare in this condition. We have preserved as many of the original details and buttons of the tent itself and incorporated the original seams into the design. The belt is made from the edge of the tent and a great piece to be worn together or with other items. Pocket bags are made from deadstock cotton sourced in Manhattan.
Each pant is made from one half tent, so details and characteristics may vary slightly from the images shown.
